Comlink Cloud Unit W5-B - Cloud Connected Alarm Modem

Comlinks Cloud Unit W5-B is a new generation IoT-device for remote monitoring and control, fit for a wide range of applications. The device comes with an integrated roaming SIM-card** compatible with most cellular networks, ready to connect. Utilizing 4G LTE-M1 it operates with low power consumption as well as increased coverage levels compared to standard 2G/3G and 4G based devices.

Cloud Unit can be used for monitoring and alarms enabling remote troubleshooting, remote control, ingress-/egress control, predictive maintenance and data collection with statistics and logs - easily retrievable form the cloud platform. Alarms can be in the form of an SMS, E-mail and/or as push-notification using the accompanying app for iOS and Android.

Remote OTA upgrades are supported for continous feature improvements though FW upgrade.

Configuration and management is easily handled in the multi-tenant cloud platform which also lets you organize and monitor all installation in a structured manner. Units can be shared between cloud accounts with detailed user access settings, allowing system integrators to share access with end users for their specific devices if needed.

Comlink Cloud

• Configure, monitor and control the unit via web-browser or mobile APP (iOS & Android)
• Cloud Unit is delivered ready-to-connect with an integrated SIM-card (Subscription covers Cloud access and Connectivity)

Inputs and Outputs

• 8 x Analogue Inputs (0 - 28V DC) with binary (digital) function
• Operating as digital inputs with logical / binary high / low status
• Operating as analogue inputs, user can define low and high thresholds to generate alarms
• 2 x Relay outputs (max 30V, 1A) can be controlled via SMS, APP, WEB-platform, Internal schedule, or by calling

 Monitoring of Inputs

• Monitor groups of devices with configurable color coding for different signal status
• For single devices a detailed view is available via cloud, with real-time status for each input
• Inputs can be monitored both via APP and through the Comlink web-platform
• Cloud Unit will also respond with status summart to SMS you send "?" or "??".

Historics / Logg

• All status changes are recorded and logged for easy export (XML / CSV)
• Access Control log is also available, containing all controls of the outputs with time stamps, letting you see who and when people used access.
• Monitor groups of devices with configurable color coding for status

Alarms & Notifications

• Receive alarms by e-mail, SMS and/or push-notifications in the APP
• Alarms can be sendt to multiple recipients with user customizable text
• The unit can report both active alarm and return to normal (Hi and Lo edge)
• Cloud has scheduler that lets you confine alarms to specific days and time of day

Control via APP

• Outputs can be controlled via the APP - Typically used for road booms and garage doors.  
• Admin can share units to other APP accounts (SI to end-user)
• When sharing, various access rights can be set. Access rights can even be tied to specific days and time of day.

Control via phone call

• Output can be activated by calling to the device - Typically used for road booms and garage doors.
• Access control for allowed phone numbers (users)
• Scheduled access control possible

Activity Logg for outputs

• Enables users to identify who controlled outputs and when
• Works independently of where the control came from (App, phone call, SMS)

Scheduler

• Scheduler lets you define up to 5 unique plans
• Can be used to control outputs based on time of day (for instance, keep gate open during working hours)
• Can be used for access control, allowing controlling of outpus only within specific time frames
• Can be used for access control, only allowing users access to configuration or other accesses to specific times of day and/or days.

Pulse Counter

• Can be used to count number of openings of doors or booms, starts of aggregates, or time use of machines
• Supports total count and interval counting
• Configurable set points for service intervals
• Lets you provide predictive maintenance for machinery in the field

Integrated GPS

• Automatic positioning of the unit
• Map available in the web platform and APP
• Combination of counter input and GPS makes the unit suitable for rented machinery. Tracking both usage and position of device.

Battery Backup

• Cloud Unit W5-B comes with an integrated back up battery allowing for powerless operation for two hours
• Unit will send alarms on power failure

*Subscription - Cloud Service

Use of the Comlink Cloud Unit requires a subscription to the Comlink Cloud Service. Subscription is placed with Last Mile AS.

Cloud Unit devices are delivered with a pre-installed SIM-card, and can only be used with this SIM-card. The SIM-card is a roaming SIM compatible with all network operators in Norway and the Comlink Cloud Unit will connect to the best available network at startup.

Please note the subscription must be ordered after you have received your hardware and created a Comlink Cloud Account.

When you have received your device and created an account; download, fill in and return the order form to us. Upon receiption we will provision your device and add it to your Comlink Cloud Account, registration of your device requires that it is powered up and connected to the cellular network.
